Expressive Art Journaling with Laney

  • Kansas City Artists Coalition 3200 Gillham Road Kansas City US (map)

Expressive journaling is like writing in a journal or diary, only you are using images to "express" yourself instead of just words. It's a little bit of emotional therapy, kid play (cutting, coloring, pasting), and an art/mixed media workshop all in one.

Laney will guide you in learning easy techniques with the latest products and tools also used in cards, scrapbooking & mixed media art. It's great fun and freedom of expression, making a page your own.

Laney and KCAC will provide materials, including a bag of images you can choose from to make a page or two. You will need to bring your own mixed media art journal, basic supplies like scissors, collage medium & brush, gesso (optional), and a permanent black pen/marker and a white acrylic paint pen.

It's fun & calming! Great if you are not "artsy" but want to unleash your playful side as well as great for the craftier types to learn new products and techniques. It often sparks ideas for future projects.
