Movement Practice for the Working Artist

As an artist, your body is your most valuable tool. Yet, so often that tool is abused through overuse, repetitive motions, or long-held postures. The goal of this introductory workshop is to identify unhealthy movements in your art or creative practice and provide immediate, practical strategies that you can utilize throughout your day.

In this class you can expect some individual analysis, group discussion, breathing and mindfulness techniques and guided movement instruction, including a 5-10 minute holistic practice as well as various “quickie” movements to support your needs.

No special equipment or clothing needed. Wear whatever you would normally wear when creating. Take care of your practice by taking care of your most important tool. You!

Note: Seek the advice of your medical professional before engaging in any activity program. This class is not a substitute for medical attention and is not meant to provide a diagnosis or treat any existing medical conditions or injuries. Participants will be required to sign a liability waiver.
