Curation Services Program

Artwork by Vanessa Lacy

  • Our intent with Curation Services is to offer artists in our region additional exhibition opportunities. These opportunities are open to artists with and without gallery representation. If we know that an artist is represented by a gallery, that information is shared with the client.

  • Our process is conversational and begins with what the client is looking for in their space. From that point, Babs (KCAC Programs Director) moves into a research phase to find artists that fit the client's wants and needs.

Following this, works by several artists are initially presented to the client. This initial presentation allows us to gauge interest and identify a curatorial direction. During these presentations, we (KCAC) never claim to represent an artist.

Once we have identified the direction that the client would like to go, our next step has been to reach out to the artist to gauge their availability and interest in the opportunity.

  • Artists that have participated in KCAC’s Curation Services Programs have had continued growth in the Kansas City Region.

The program provides artists with access to non-traditional exhibition spaces.
