Open to artists and designers everywhere—you do not need to live in Kansas City to participate.
You do not need to be a KCAC member to enter. If you enjoy opportunities like this, we encourage you to explore the benefits of becoming a member and supporting KCAC's mission.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older to submit.
Artists under the age of 18 are welcome to participate, but a parent or legal guardian must complete and submit the entry on their behalf.
-
Each artist may submit up to two (2) original designs.
Designs must be entirely the original work of the submitting artist.
The use of generative artificial intelligence to create all or substantial portions of the submitted design is discouraged. Minor AI-assisted editing tools (such as background removal, image cleanup, or color correction) are allowed, but the creative concept and artwork itself must be created by the artist.
Encourage designs to include either:
Your interpretation of the Kansas City Artists Coalition logo or
the words "Kansas City Artists Coalition" incorporated into the design.
Artwork should be suitable for printing.
Designs may be front-only or back-only.
Artwork should be submitted as a high-resolution PDF, AI, EPS, SVG, or other vector file.
-
Designs will be evaluated on:
Creativity and originality
Visual impact
Wearability as a t-shirt
Production feasibility
Connection to the spirit of the Kansas City Artists Coalition
-
The three selected artists will:
Have their work produced as official KCAC 50th Anniversary merchandise.
Be recognized during KCAC's 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Be featured on KCAC's website, social media, and anniversary promotions.
Receive a complimentary commemorative t-shirt featuring their winning design

Does the artwork need to be digital or traditional?
Either! We welcome both traditional and digital artwork. If you're working in traditional media, please submit a high-resolution scan or photograph of your finished piece. If your design is selected, we may work with you to prepare it for production if needed. Is there a color limit?
At this time, there isn't a strict color limit. We simply ask that designs be suitable for screen printing. Final colors and any minor production adjustments will be made in collaboration with the selected artists and our printer if necessary. What size should the artwork be?
Please submit your artwork at the highest quality possible. Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF) are preferred, but we'll also accept high-resolution PNG or JPG files. If you're creating a raster image, we recommend designing at 300 DPI and approximately 12" × 12" or larger.
