Lilly Powell (She/They) was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. She received her BFA from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, and completed Post Baccalaureate studies at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana. Powell is currently an Artist in Residence at Belger Crane Yard Studios in Kansas City, Missouri.

Powell explores ritual in intimate space through the concept of fossils. Providing a sense of place by utilizing surfaces commonly seen and regularly touched, she aims to accumulate a nexus of objects and their associations. By making a permanent record of what is generally considered the mundane, Powell helps the overlooked to become elevated.
