I have few rules I follow in the creation of my work, except faith to the vision I have. The piece will come to me either fully formed in my mind or by the juxtaposition of the materials as they come together. It is difficult for me to identify where my inspiration comes from. Emotions, humor, questions of physics the social political condition or walking the dog and seeing a turned over flower pot. These have all been sources for my inspiration. Joy comes when I find myself being lead in the direction the piece wants to go and I have lost control. When the piece is complete and I am surprised by unexpected results I feel I have succeeded.
