The KCAC Artist Lifestyle is kicking back up this week with local artist Ari Fish (@ari_fish_studio)!

Ari received her BFA in Ceramics from the Kansas City Art Institute. Her work spans across a wide range of media from sculpture and photography, to clothing design, drawing, writing, music and large scale multi media installations. She is the recipient of a Charlotte Street Foundation Visual Arts Fellowship and a two time recipient of the ArtsKC Inspiration Grant. She splits her time between her studio practice and as the Career Advisor at the Kansas City Art Institute. We are thrilled to look at the world through  Ari’s lens, so to get things started, here are a few words about her current work and artistic inspiration…

“Ari Fish creates spiritual works of art that are of service to people and the space they reside within. A key component to her art practice is the construction of non-denominational temporary temples in public exhibition spaces. Each temple is themed around the numerological significance of the sequence in which it was constructed. A focus on inclusive human centered transformative experiences within these temples is of greatest importance. This focus of spiritual transformation carries on throughout all Fish’s clothing design and the construction of her ceremonial jackets and uniforms, writings, music, drawings and graphic design.”

We just can’t wait to see what Ari has in store for us, so here are a few images of her artwork and past Instagram photos to get things kicked off…
